Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a hormone imbalance and is characterized by changes to the ovaries such that multiple follicles accumulate in the ovaries without ovulation. The principal function of ovary is production of an egg each month for ovulation and production of all hormones necessary for reproduction. The ovary fails to expel the matured eggs in PCOS and a small amount of fluid begins to accumulate inside the immature follicles to form multiple cysts.
In Ayurveda, PCOS is a disorder involving Pitta, Kapha, Vata Doshas It works to improve hormone utilization and regulates overall hormonal balance. Its herbal content like: Saraca indica (Ashoka), Shilajit, Shatavari, Emblica officinalis (Amla), Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa), Bang Bhasma, Dashmoolam Extract etc; are also quite beneficial in curbing the three aggravated doshas. Shatavari in Vyomax, brings balance and strength to the menstrual system. Shilajit helps in general physical strengthening, blood sugar stabilization, urinary tract rejuvenation, hypertension, obesity and many other application for numerous conditions.
Apart from this, the most common form of treatment for PCOS is the birth control pills. Even if you are not sexually active, birth control pills may be prescribed by your doctor because they contain the hormones that your body needs to treat your PCOS. By taking them either continuously or in cycles you can: correct the hormone imbalance, lower the level of testosterone, which will improve acne and lessen hair growth, regulate your menstrual periods etc.
